Description
HENK is the World's Most Expensive Carry On! (this amazing carry on is listed at $20,000 retail price - Hand Made in Netherlands) HENK has been sold to elite travelers over the world. It is shared by word of mouth between the most successful of business people. In 2007, HENK became available through select retailers, with a yearly sales cap of 200 cases sold, in order to guarantee quality and exclusivity to customers. At $20,000 a case, this exclusive item is the height of luxury - improving business travel and bringing its owners a new level of ease, and beauty, in motion. Additional Features: • IATA-measurements so the HENK can be taken on-board commercial jets. • Cable lock, to secure the case to a chair or any other object. • Easily accessible compartments for small items. • Big wheels (made out of Titanium) which only come out when needed. As soon as the handle is pulled out the big wheels will retract. This wheel technology allows stable handling even on stairs, cobblestones and escalators. • Strong monocoque carbon frame resulting in a low weight. • A design based on personal value and experience. • Small side wheels are integrated for airplane aisle access. Design: • Timeless • Exclusive • Luxurious • Personalized • Ergonomic • Retro Futuristic Functionality & Features: • Stability • Noiselessness • One-hand handling • Comfort • Center gravity • User friendly • Durability • Maximum packing space • Seat function • Dress boy function • Partition wall between business and private Emotion: • Safety • Happiness • Limited editions • Innovative high tech material • Image • Convenience • Quality Product: • IATA-measurements • Long telescope • Lightweight construction • Rigid frame • Central Locking system • Large retractable wheels • Side wheels • Top compartments • Integrated click-on system HENK looks timeless: HENK must be the first object of its size (55 x 40 x 20 cm or 21.65 x 15.75 x 7.87 inches) that doesn't look like a large box. HENK has no edges, only a distinctive, timeless silhouette. It seems to have been designed to be more of an aesthetic experience than simply as a thing to pack things into. Its high-performance, lightweight carbon-fibre composite shell is baked in the same way as the cockpit of a high-performance Formula 1 racing car. That's why HENK is super light and super strong. HENK uses for its functional decorativeness the same quality aluminium that is used in the construction of high-performance aircraft. The wheel brackets in the suspension system are made of titanium. HENK complies with all the IATA standards defining the maximum dimensions for on-board luggage. Thanks to its design and construction it has far more capacity than most trolleys with similar dimensions. HENK and the sound of silence: Whether pulling, pushing or stopping, it all happens in perfect silence. Not only the wheels but also the other 500 components of HENK all work almost noiselessly. What you see here is another key design aspect which no one else sees: there is no axle. And no axle rumble. HENK has fully retractable wheel systems. Pull a handle and the two large-diameter main wheels appear out of the carbon-fibre shell like the miniature landing gear of an airplane. Wheels with a diameter of 16 cm (6.3 inches), brackets of titanium and polyurethane tyres are the secrets of HENK’s noiselessness. HENK always weighs the same: An empty HENK weighs approximately 5kg (11 lbs). When standing on its wheels those 5kg (11 lbs) weigh only 25g (0.88 ounces) in your hand, and can be controlled with only one finger. The same applies to HENK even when fully packed with everything you need for your journey. Also, inside is a removable partition which divides HENK into two compartments: »office« and »private«. To facilitate easy packing and unpacking HENK can be laid flat on its side and opened fully. In upright position, however, HENK is prevented from fully opening by two elegant retaining cords. This avoids any potentially embarrassing situation should the case open inadvertently. HENK in use: HENK is built so you can sit quite comfortably on it, even though on its upper side, there is access to recessed pockets for smaller items. The carbon shell protects an interior which uses the finest Italian wood veneer in combination with fine horsehair or woven high-tech-materials. The interior is partitioned using separators of the finest parachute fabric. Any attaché case can, when necessary, be fastened onto HENK's outside. For this purpose a special securing strap is used. This strap has the additional purpose of securing HENK against theft almost anywhere. HENK is moved simply by means of a tubular telescopic extension with the optimal length, when fully extended, of 102.8cm (40.5 inches). This ensures that HENK is always at the correct distance from the body (and feet) permitting the owner to walk upright. To pull HENK, for example, along the narrow aisle of an aircraft the tubes need only be partly extended. Simply push the ebony release button in the ergonomically shaped handle, turn HENK onto its side, and then pull it along using the special set of two small wheels – all with just one hand. The central locking system can also be controlled entirely with one hand. Just like everything about HENK. ------------------------------- F.A.Q HENK MATERIALS: Q. What is Carbon Fibre? A. Carbon Fibre is the chemical element in the periodic tabel bearing the symbol C and the atomic number 6. Carbon Fibre is also a strong, light and very expensive material. Q. What is a full Carbon monocoque frame? A. The word "monocoque" is French for "single shell". The HENK Travelfriend Carbon Fibre composite monocoque frame is created from a single piece. Q. Which parts are made of Carbon Fibre? A. The monocoque frame, the handle, the lids, the wheel doors and the inner unit. Q. What is titanium? A. Titanium is the metallic element with the symbol Ti and the atomic number 22. Titanium is a "space age" metal with a silver-grey appearance. It is 50-60% stronger and nearly 50% lighter than steel, and increasingly being used in space technology. Q. Which parts are made of titanium? A. The wheel brackets of the HENK Travelfriend are made of titanium. Q. Why does HENK use horsehair? A. Horsehair is a fabric made from horse tail hair woven with cotton. It has a natural look and feel that contribute greatly to its beauty. Spillages should be wiped dry immediately with an absorbent cloth, and marks should be wiped with a slightly damp cloth and then with a dry cloth. To keep horsehair surfaces in perfect condition, they may be carefully brushed and vacuumed clean. As all fabrics fade when exposed to direct sunlight, it is advisable to keep your HENK Travelfriend closed to protect the interior if you are not using the case for long periods of time. Q. Which parts are made of horsehair? A. If you choose the horsehair option, it will be used to cover the inside of the front and back lids as well as the inside of the top lids to the right and left. Q. What is wood veneer? A. Wood veneer is a thin layer of wood "peeled" from wooden logs and applied to the core substrate material by the use of adhesive and pressure. It comes from Alpi in Italy. Alpi is one of the leading companies in the woodworking sector due to its expertise in fitting out ships and luxury yachts. The company, founded in 1919 in Romagna by Pietro Alpi, was originally a cabinetmaking firm that over time began specialising in the manufacture of multilaminate wood veneer panels. Q. Which parts are made of wood veneer? A. The inside frame and the bottom of the top lids to the right and left may be made of wood veneer. -------------------------------- For more information on this product, feel free to visit: - for more pictures: http://www.cimara.com/cg - the manufacturer website: www.henk.com - the HENK designer website: http://www.frogdesign.com/case-study/henk-hand-luggage.html - other websites: http://www.stylehive.com/blog/design-of-the-week-the-20000-henk-suitcase http://www.lifestyle-ascona.ch/ http://millionairefair.ru/eng/exhibitors/member?143 http://www.coolhunting.com/archives/2005/08/the_henk.php This unique item comes with its brochure & unlocked (lock is disabled).
